MUSCULOSKELETAL ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture has been clinically proven to have a long-lasting effect on pain levels*. With reduced pain, the body is once again able to move more normally and thus overused muscles can begin to relax, and underused muscles can begin to switch on again. Acupuncture enhances bloodflow to the injured area, bringing the neccessary nutrients for healing. Acupuncture and related therapies can also reduce oedema and inflammation, improve wound and fracture healing, reduce muscle spasm, reduce scarring and adhesions and promotes nerve regeneration** returning you to your usual activities faster.
Consultations may include structural and postural assessments if appropriate and an exercise programme that is specific to your injury will be tailored for you to assist you in your recovery. Self-management and re-injury prevention education is also a large focus of the consultation.

COSMETIC ACUPUNCTURE
Cosmetic acupuncture is a specialised form of acupuncture that involves using points on the body and face to improve skin tone, fade blemishes, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and lift the face. It can be also used to improve the appearance of scars. Cosmetic acupuncture encourages the production of collagen which reduces the depth of fine lines and wrinkles and tightens the skin. In addition, clients often notice a reduction in stress levels and an overall improvement in wellbeing. Pracitical advice regarding skincare and nutrition will also be given as part of the consultation.
Treatment cost is dependent on the client's skin condition and how many areas of the face require treatment. For maximum benefit, clients are recommended to recieve weekly treatments for 8-12 weeks and are offered a discount on bulk treatment purchases.
TRADITIONAL ACUPUNCTURE
For over 3000 years traditional acupuncture has been used to address a myriad of health complaints. Traditional acupuncture considers the whole person and tailors the treatment to the client in order to address the underlying imbalances which are causing the symptoms. Acupuncture is based on ancient theories of the flow of Qi through distinct pathways throughout the body called meridians or channels. A wide range of health complaints can be successfully treated through the insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points on these channels . By harmonizing the flow of Qi, balance is restored to the entire body, which in turn relieves pain and improves general wellbeing.
Techniques such as cupping, moxibustion, and auricular (ear) needling may be used as part of the therapy. In addition, lifestyle factors such as diet are also examined and advice given as part of the treatment.
