TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY
As a practitioner trained in both the Eastern and Western medical model, Anna offers a unique, well-rounded approach to healthcare. She supports both allopathic and complementary medicine and believes each system offers valuable healthcare options to patient care. Anna works from the philosophy that true wellbeing encompasses not only physical health but mental and spiritual health as well and thus approaches each consultation from a holistic point of view. Her consultations may therefore include not only assessments using the traditional acupuncture model but also dietary/postural/workplace/mental health assessments as well. In addition, Anna has a strong philosophy of empowering clients through education, thus enhancing the prevention and self-management of their health complaints. By supporting and encouraging clients throughout the healing process, Anna's intention is to lead the patient towards empowerment and healthcare independance.

BACKGROUND
Anna Cherry orginally trained as a physiotherapist at the University of Otago, New Zealand. An ongoing back complaint led her to leave physiotherapy and pursue a working holiday in Japan, which eventuated in her living, working and traveling throughout Asia for several years. In 2007 she returned in NZ to study traditional acupuncture under Dr Joan Campbell in Auckland, and completed her studies after a practicum at the Nanjing University teaching hospitals in China. She has subsequently trained in TCM dietary therapy under Paul Pitchford L.Ac. in the US and cosmetic acupuncture under Paul Adkins L.Ac. She works closely with osteopaths and massage therapists and her clinic is located within an osteopathic clinic. Her interests include hiking, yoga, Pilates, pottery, and diving.
